Even though you can’t see it (because I felt like playing with black and white effects ;P ), my jacket is bright green and the T-shirt is turquoise. I felt like the pants needed some brightening up with colors since they are grey with black text on them. I love these pants; I got them in Tallinn and they are probably the comfiest pair I own. The jacket was from H&M a few years ago (on sale, 10 euros) and the pants are from Reserved.
Finally I managed to transfer all my photos. It was a long time coming 🙂 I wanted to do another small haul post since I got so much great stuff from my Tallinn trip!
White peplum top from River Island, 60$
They have run out of the blue skirt in Zara but there’s a pink one with the same shape and fabric here!
Reserved still has those joggers. 🙂
After I did the post about Sookie’s style, I wanted to do another fandom style post but this time with Buffy. I love 90s fashion and I think a lot of the outfits in BtVS are really cute. Nonetheless, I felt I needed to narrow my focus so I chose the college years (starting from season 4 of BtVS) where Buffy and Willow’s style evolved and matured from the first seasons.
Both Buffy and Willow wore a lot of skirts in college, Willow favoring maxis while Buffy opted mostly for ankle length and midi skirts. Buffy still liked to wear leather and Willow hadn’t ditched her signature quirky outfits either – they simply matured and made them more college appropriate. Both seemed to also like floral patterns and bright colors, which I personally love 🙂
I also thought I’d add here a traditional Buffy outfit, which I’m fully intending to do for Halloween some year!
Have you guys been watching the new season of True Blood? I loved True Blood when it started and, even though I’m not a huge fan of the plot lines that have been going on during the last few seasons, I still want to watch every episode. Especially since this is the last season! I love the books too and I think Anna Paquin has done a great job in bringing Sookie Stackhouse to life. And who could not love Alexander Skarsgård?
I wanted to do a style collection inspired by Sookie simply because I adore her clothes! They’re always so feminine and pretty – even though she can be kick-ass too!
In this first set, all the dresses are from Modcloth. I noticed when I was putting this set together that the dresses that kept popping up that most reminded me of Sookie were all from there. IT’s understandable because Sookie is very girly and has a lot of even old-fashioned beautifully cut dresses. But if Modcloth isn’t quite in your price range, I’ve collected these cute separates that are all inspired by Sookie’s feminine but comfortable style.

I feel like Sookie’s style is perfect for the summer. If you go with either a pair of black shorts with a cute denim jacket or a yellow sundress, you’ll be cute as a button for work or a party!
I have always loved Emma Watson’s style. I know celebrities mostly get dressed by their stylists but, nonetheless, you have to admire when someone actually dresses in fabulous clothes every single time – there are so many stars who end up in strange and uncomfortable looking clothes despite that they’re being dressed by professionals.
Below are some of my absolute favorite looks from Emma: I love that she can do very soft and romantic, but also hard and geometric. She’s, in my opinion, a very versatile dresser.
I decided to also do an Emma Watson inspired look on Polyvore: I think this look is the perfect example of successfully combining hard and soft. I love leather jackets and Emma brilliantly combined one with very feminine floral skirt and a flow-y top.
I thought it’s time for another outfit-post 🙂 This time I donned on my Beatles T-shirt because I just finished an intensive course on the band and felt inspired to dig this shirt out from my closet. I paired the shirt with a nice gray vest and black jeans. And now for the first time you can also see me with my glasses; I don’t wear them too often because I usually only need them for seeing the blackboard when I’m the back row in class.
I recently won Ingrid‘s Majestical jewelry giveaway and got a 20$ gift card to spend on their online store, and now I wanted to do a mini review about the jewelry that I ended up buying. After Ingrid told me I had won, I couldn’t wait at all and instead went ahead and ordered – after an hour of trying to choose between all the amazing pieces – a necklace and a pair of earrings. I chose to get real statement pieces because I normally just wear a lot of delicate jewelry. The necklace I got is not too over the top for my taste but is still very edgy and brilliantly spices up any outfit. The earrings are also really magnificent, perfect for some fabulous party!
Falling Flowers Earrings Glowing Green Spike Necklace
The jewelry arrived really fast (usually I have to wait quite a long time for anything to arrive to Finland) and I can’t wait to wear my new lovelies! The necklace I already tried out – I love how it goes with anything from T-shirt and jeans to a fancy dress. The earrings I’ll wear next time I go out 🙂
Next I really want this beautifully bright pink pendant necklace!
Have you ever gotten any Majestical jewelry?
Finally my last exam is over (now just two essays, thesis, and a presentation left) so I have more time to blog! 😀 I thought I’d start with a my outfit of the day: Now that the weather has improved by about 100% and it’s clearly Spring, I wanted to get a new pair of dungarees. I found these really nice ones from H&M for only 30 €. I paired them with a pink T-shirt and my boyfriend’s mom’s old leather jacket (because it’s not quite warm enough yet to go without one).
Who else here loves Pretty Little Liars?
I started watching Pretty Little Liars when it was already on its second season and I became obsessed. I find it exciting, sometimes downright scary, emotional and thrilling. It manages to surprise over and over again, which is something that not a lot of shows do anymore. I also love the different personalities of the girls, my favorites being Emily and Spencer (it’s scary how much I can usually relate to Spencer with her obsessiveness). I also like the fashion of the show; I could raid the closets of all the characters.
I especially love Emily’s clothes because in my eyes they’re the perfect cross between pretty and comfortable. She manages to look perfectly polished in very casual clothes, which is quite a talent. I think I’m going to try to incorporate a look like this into my summer wardrobe 🙂
What do you like about PLL? And omg, how did you feel about the final? I was shocked (and hooked…)
As you might have noticed, I dye my hair red. Quite frequently actually. My natural color is a very mousy dirty blonde and I like to have a bit more vibrant locks. Since my hair is very thin and fine, I do try to use only natural colors without any chemicals. This is why I have turned to body quality henna. I mix it with hot water (boiled) so that it turns into a paste that is easy to slather all over your hair. Then I keep it on for a few hours and wash it off. Don’t be fooled by the weird green color or the grassy smell – it actually gives a natural red hair without any damage. In fact, my hair usually feels silkier and thicker after using henna.
Ingredients to get a very intense red: few drops of lemon juice, bit of paprika, bit of ground coffee or red wine.
Tip: If you have time, let the henna mix breathe for about 24 h – it’ll make it more potent and make the color stay longer.
In other news:
Just a warning: I am going to be a bit inconsistent with my posting for the next few weeks because we are launching a Her Campus Chapter here in Helsinki (YAY!) and my thesis work is due in three weeks (YIKES!) Bear with me! 🙂
