Liebster #3

Firstly: I’m INSANELY late with this so, my apologies. And a huge thank you to Jess from Bookworms in Dresses for nominating me for my third (?!) Liebster! Be sure to check her out: she blogs about books and food, and all things cool! (Almost rhymed.)

The rules are:

  1. Thank and link the person who nominated you.
  2. Write the rules.
  3. Answer 11 questions and write 11 of your own.
  4. Nominate 11 other bloggers (who have less than 200 followers on their blog) and don’t forget letting them known that they have been nominated.
  5. Write 11 facts about yourself.

Addictive Blogs

I’ve been into the blogging world this year but I haven’t yet had many chances to showcase the blogs I love to read, so I decided to do a little collection of the blogs I am addicted to like 🙂

The College Prepster: Carly’s blog was probably the first one I really started following on a daily basis. I love the mixture of preppy and ambitious, school-related and fun-loving!

xoVain: One of the few strictly beauty-related blogs I follow; I love the quirkiness of the blog.

The Beauty Department: another beauty blog – their how-to’s are so easy to follow!

Into the Gloss: a lovely mix of urban, beauty, celebs, and life

Sweet Lemon Mag: preppy and fabulous!

Smilingrid: My girl Ingrid is amazing and she’s so geeky – I love it! We both like Harry Potter and Doctor Who. Instant blogger besties.

October June: Another Harry Potter fan with a great mix of all sorts of lifestyle posts.

Allisonleighann: krhm….another Harry Potter fan 😀 You can clearly see that I favor geeky girls 😛

FeliciaDay.com: the hilarious actress Felicia Day has a blog that I follow a lot – it’s geeky, quirky and smart!

A Beautiful Mess: a brilliant source for DIYs and photography tips!

Nerdjoy!: everything geeky ever! Steph is a fan of Game of Thrones – another one of my favorite fandoms – so I had to include her in this list 🙂

Scathingly Brilliant: I just love this girl’s style – just look at all those pastels!!

Liebster

A while back I was nominated for yet another Liebster by the sweet Marina from Earth to Marina. I put off writing the post since I had just done two of them but now I thought maybe enough time has passed so that you won’t feel like I’m doing these every single day 😛

March Love in a Box Blogger Swap!

This month was my first time participating in any sort of a blogger swap. Love in a Box blogger swap is organized by Megan from Lush to Blush and Kimberly from Kimberly’s Chronicle. The rules are fairly simple: Sign up on the blogger swap page and you’ll get paired up with someone every month and after getting to know each other a bit better, you’ll send a box of surprise goodies to them. And afterwards of  course you’ll make a post about the whole thing.

Here are the more precise rules:

    1. Box value cannot exceed $25, or $20 for international swaps.
    2. Boxes must be sent by the 18th of each month, or by the 15th for international swaps.
    3. Each participant must create a blog post about the swap and include a link to this page for interested bloggers.
    4. Each participant must follow the hosts, Megan of Lush to Blush and Kimberly of Kimberly’s Chronicle on Bloglovin‘ and at least one other social media. You must also follow the blogger you are swapped with each month. Link to the blogger swap page and you’re good to go!

For my first swap, I got paired with the amazing Emily Finta from Designs by Emily F who was so nice and is a fan of pretty much all the same TV shows as me! 😀 She was such a sweetheart when we were emailing: Emily’s a graphic designer (how cool is that?!) and she is also a Harry Potter and Psych fan. She was super considerate in making sure I got my package in time (downsides of living in Finland…) and sent me the greatest pack of surprise goodies!

 Emily’s box for me included:

  • an Amazon gift card which I used when I ordered a Buffy t-shirt I’ve been eyeing on for a while now (great choice from Emily and, yet again, very considerate because she knew it takes a long time for the package to arrive to Finland)
  • Candy which is great because I love having chocolate with coffee (also, we don’t have all those candies in Finland so it’s going to be fun to try them out!)
  • a Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm (unapologetic) in such a lovely pink shade<3
  • Buffy, Doctor Who and Harry Potter stickers, which I’ll probably use to decorate my school folders (they are in desperate need of something to make them look a bit cheerier)

Thanks again, Emily! Now, EVERYONE, go and follow her, okay?!

In other news, one of the co-host for the Love in a Box swap, Megan from Lush to Blush, recently entered into a boyfriend jeans challenge. All the participants had to style an outfit with boyfriend jeans and now Megan is one of the eight finalists! If she wins, she gets to fly out to London for a shopping trip. Here is a quote from Megan’s blog post, telling why she’d love to go:

“I have never been out of the United States, so being able to visit another country would be more than enough in itself. I have dreamed of traveling the world for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to study abroad and have planned dozens of fantasy vacays. But now I actually have to chance to go and I feel so incredibly lucky.”

Megan’s video can be found here! Go and vote for her, she’s such a great blogger and really deserves it! If you want to see her entire post about the contest, you can find it here. Go help out!

Liebster Award Post (2nd One)

YES, another Liebster Award post! I know I did one just a few days ago but Ingrid, the beautiful owner of Smilingrid, nominated me again so I wanted to answers her questions. I know some of you might not feel like reading another long Liebster post (although you should since I’m nominating some amazing blogs), so I’m going to let everyone decide for themselves: If you want to read the full post, you can see it after the jump.

February Update: Her Campus, the Cutest Boy and a Kittycat

I’ve been a busy little bee again (not only because I have an exam tomorrow, yikes!) with all my blog drafts, BTSB articles/meetings, school work and actual writing work for Lukufiilis (a literature magazine for teens which comes out four times a year).

The exciting new is this: I got accepted into the Her Campus Blogger Network! How great is that?! Everyone in the network has been super nice and welcoming. I couldn’t ask for more.

Also I have to share these pictures with you guys:

Sending

Isn’t that first one pretty much the cutest boy ever? I found that picture of my boyfriend Ari as a kid from his grandmother’s house. Later during this week I’ll post some pictures I took there. My boyfriend’s grandmother has the coziest house! We also went to say hi to Sami the cat who was our little house guest for a few weeks before going back to Ari’s grandmother. The third picture above is of me and my friend Dani at a party I threw at my place over the weekend. We had such a blast, it was great to take a short break from all the school work I have to get done.
